What To Expect

Expect to Hear from God

The largest portion of our worship service is spent sitting under the preaching of the Word of God. The Bible is not simply a book of good things we need to know. It is to be our first and last authority. It ought to shape everything that we think and do. This being the case, after singing and prayer we open up our Bibles as the pastor helps us see what our Creator has to say to us and how it applies to our lives. We would love for you to bring your Bible and come and join us. If you do not have a Bible, that is no a problem. Come anyway and we will gladly give you one for free.

Expect Vibrant, Christ-Centered Music

There is much for us to be joyful about and that joy produces praise. One of the ways with which we express that praise is through singing. When you come, expect a blended musical style. There is something for you if you prefer hymns and there is something for you if you prefer contemporary songs. Although that is not why we sing. We sing to exalt the name of Christ and proclaim the infinite worth of our God. Come ready to sing. I believe you will be blessed, and most importantly, God will be glorified.

Expect to be Loved on

Not only do we want to welcome you when you come, but we want to follow up after you leave. We want to call you to let you know how glad we were that you came and see if there is anything we can do for you. To help us with that, we ask you to fill out a blue Communication Card, so we have your contact information. You can also write down prayer requests. They can be found in the back of the pews in front of you. We won’t harass you. We just want you to know that you are noticed and loved.

Expect no dress code

Come as you are. We just ask that you dress modestly. Some of us wear jeans. Some of us wear suits and dresses. Please do not feel like you will be judged because of how you are dressed. We just want to be a loving place where you can experience the transforming power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Expect a time of giving for members

Every Sunday morning we give our members the opportunity to support our mission and the spread of the gospel through an offering. If you are a guest, please do not feel obligated to give. The offering is for those who consider The First Baptist Church of Arcadia their home. Instead, if you are a believer, prayerfully consider joining our church. If you have never believed in Jesus Christ as the crucified and risen Lord, our hope is that through our worship service you might believe.
